I work for a safari company as a photography lecturer & guide, on a recent trip I noticed light coming in through the view finder. On arrival back to Cape Town I took the camera to Orms where I purchased it in May 2012. After 2 weeks I get the message that the warranty won't be upheld due to damage. Ive never dropped or mishandled the camera and keep it stored in a protective case when not taking photos or doing workshops.
I now have to pay R1200 to replace viewfinder assemble, focus screen etc.
I specifically avoided the grey market because of warranty issues and now I have to fork out even more! Im stuck between a rock and a hard place as Im shooting a wedding in 2 weeks.
