In 2003 I enrolled with INTEC college for a certificate in Cellphone repairs. I continued with the course but never got to write the final exam. In 2004 I paid the last outstanding amount of R300 at Standard Bank. Thereafter I never got any correspondence from INTEC. Then last week I got an e-mail from MDB collections that I must pay R677.62, as I was concerned I called MDB collections to explain how & why I owe them the said amount, I was told that all they know is that i owe INTEC R320 & MDB R320 in interest & a service fee of about R37. I then called INTEC & they told me my account was too old & was not on their system & I should call MDB for an explanation. They were not of much help either as they said I'd be contacted within 24 hours. All I want to know is where is this money stemming from and what steps were taken by INTEC to contact me in the past 7 years to tell me I owe them. I feel it's unfair to be handed over to lawyers who could find me in 7 months but INTEC couldn't in 7 years. It's not a matter of that I don't want or can't pay, but I would like to know exactly what I'm paying for & what steps were taken to contact me.
