I have just registered for my 1st year at Unisa, my intention is to become a chartered accountant, and as per unisas website on application and as stated in "My registration" booklet 2013, I chose to register for Accounting Sciences in MANAGEMENT accounting, as per the description giving under this qualification on the website and also in the registration booklet that this is the right degree to complete if i intend on becoming a chartered accountant, however, now I am told by a few accounting firms as well as confirming for myself under the accredited degrees webpage on the SAICA website, that the degree I have chosen being the MANAGEMENT accounting degree, is NOT accredited but the FINANCIAL accounting degree is. Please also note that there was absolutely nothing stipulated under the FINANCIAL accounting degree as to choose this one instead of MANAGEMENT.
therefore I have requested the following change to be made:
To change my qualification code FROM 98304 TO 98302 (Accounting Sci in FINANCIAL accounting)
Sent email to unisa but still awaiting feedback on this, and would like it sorted out ASAP as it is a huge concern of mine.
