I want to know, if a principle can be so openly rude with a parent, how is he and his staff treating the children in the school? In the process of applying for enrolment for my child at the school as a grade 8 pupil next year, proof of address (stipulated that only municipal utility bill is acceptable) needs to be included. I rent my parents house so I don't have a municipal account and have indicated so on the application. Upon contacting the school after the application was rejected I finally got through to Mr Gouws which informed me that they needed a proof of address before 3 this afternoon. I asked him why no one said that any proof of address was acceptable before today as I will miss the deadline now - he reprimanded me in a very rude and stern voice that I should not make my problem theirs just because I made a mistake and I want to pin it on them now and I should bring the proof in or refrain from applying. I almost got the feeling that because I am renting my child does not have the same rights as the rich kids whose parents is owners. What values and education is given to our kids - do we not have a new SA where all is equal? How can people without values teach in SA
