I have a blocked drain and a kitchen tap that needs a new washer, and called Drain Surgeon around 9.30am yesterday to book someone to come and fix it. I was told that they could not give me a time, but the people coming out would call me. I sat at home all day, waiting. At gone 4pm I called again and was told that my job had not even been issued. Eventually, as it was beginning to get dark, the guys arrived - no phonecall.
They looked at my drain and told me, helpfully, "Its blocked"
"well yes" I replied, thats why I called you - please fix it" Simple? No. Turns out that they dont have the equipment to unblock it. They need a spring machine, which is what the last people (not Drain Surgeon) used. They would have to come back today. I arranged again to be here, at some inconvenience. This time, they had the spring machine, but no washer. How can you be a plumber and not carry a washer?
They unblocked the drain, but left the bath tub full of debris, and the tap is still dripping
Oh, and finally, I called them to find out what the charge would be so I could draw cash and they quoted me WITHOUT VAT!! Who does that? NOT worth the exhorbitant charges
