In 2012 we had the misfortune of dealing with Ryan and Vicky Mitchell for landscaping, pool and tiling work.
After weeks of complaints about work not getting done with minimal to no supervision Ryan stated they are "bankrupt" and cannot continue with the work for about 6 weeks.
The job finally came to a miserable end 4 months after commencement with the following result:
1/ Irrigation system is not working 100% - rain sensor malfunction;
2/ Grass planted is supposed to be LM, but 50% is kikuyu;
3/ Settled for a deck and no pergola as no plan on pergola design was given;
4/ Paintwork on the pool is blotchy with light and dark stripes all over - this will have to be re-done;
5/ 80% of 120m2 travertine tiles has cracked and "tented" and need to be replaced
The reason for the tiling problem is that RhinoLite was used to "glue" the travertine down instead of tile glue.
It is now costing us R60k to replace the tiles and re-do the tiling.
Agreements to meet Ryan Mitchell to discuss the work has not been honored by him with all messages and emails being ignored.
We will be taking legal action for damages as a result of bad workmanship and misrepresentation.
