I hired a vehicle at Cape Town International which was returned on 12 April. We checked the returned vehicle together with the Inspector and agreed there is no problem with the vehicle. The invoice was completed the same day and the excess deposit also refunded immediately, service that actually deserved a compliment. Then 13 days later on 25 April I get a call at 17h20 stating "Sir you returned a damaged vehicle on 12 April. My friend tried to call you but you cut him off".
I was so upset by this allegation that I can not remember who called me and when I called back 12 minutes later I was told the claims department only works until 17h00.
Whether they will now try and claim any money from me remains to be seen, but the question is do you ever do business with Europcar again when their employees can try and pin a claim for damages on you 13 days after you returned a car in exactly the same state you received it?
