Shell South Africa
SHOCKING ATTITUDE TOWARDS GENERAL PUBLIC

I visited the Shell Garage at Calitzdorp last week on my way from Cape Town to Mossel Bay. Relaxing on the edge of a cut wine barrel at the Shell Garage for a few minutes, I was asked by one of the staff to please move as the owner did not like people sitting there. They seemed anxious and before I could move, I was approached by the owner himself. The garage has 3 entrances and our motor bikes were parked slightly over the middle entrance. There was only one car at the pump - it was 11h00 and the garage was definitely not busy. We were showing our Jhb clients the country were on our Harley Davidsons - I only mention this to highlight the next ridiculous comment. The owner walked up to us, accused us of bringing the street children to his garage, and asked us to off. We were on a public road on the VERGE of his establishment. The railings around the garage have barbed wire on them - definitely NOT inviting! When we left he was shouting abuse through the window at us. The rudeness of his attitude was so offensive that I had to take it further and make mention of it here. What a bad representation of Shell to both us and our Jhb guests.
