I was contacted by GWM Vredenburg in connection with a Toyota Bakkie that they had for sale. I asked for them to mail me all the details which they promptly did.
This included the price of the vehicle as well as the cost for licensing etc.
I told them I would purchase the vehicle.
They suggested that I should sign a O.T.P so that they would not sell the vehicle for the next 24 hours as there was a second party interested in the vehicle.
I signed the O.T.P and returned the next day to discuss the cash payment. I was informed that the vehicle had been sold to the second buyer as he offered to pay more for the vehicle.
I feel this is totally un ethical. This was not a auction where the highest bidder gets the purchase. I was given a price from GWM which I accepted. It was a price set by them.
I was contacted by the person who runs the company and was told by him that they would do it again. If they offered a vehicle at a certain price, and somebody wanted to purchase it and a second person came in afterwards and wanted to purchase the same car but offered them more money they would then disappoint the first buyer to make a couple of extra bucks.
What kind of a company is GWM.
