False information regarding fuel consumption

We bought my wifes I20 in January2013. The sticker in the car's window showed a consumption of 4, 2L/100km. The exact same models now have a sticker that shows 6, 1L/100km (which is what we get). Michelle at Hyundai SA commented that that sticker is only to compare one brand with another, but that Hyundai does not guarrantee fuel consumption figures. Why does the sticker on the our car differs from the exact same car now. I consider it to be false information.
