My car was sent for a follow up on a part that was repaired by Ecar. They found another problem of R19000. Without acceptance of quote they went ahead and repaired my veh. On such short notice I was not in a position to pay that amount. Ecar kept my car for two weeks, parked in an open parking area in the sun, unlocked. What was even worse Ecar got personal, phone a certain tyre company which supplied me with 4 new tyres last year. My attorney send the tyre company n formal letter on our intention to pay them due to various reason why we did not pay the tyres. The owner of Ecar phoned the tyre company and gave them permission to remove all four tyres. Needless to say I went with the police and on my attorneys advice to tow my veh (with replaced second hand tyres) to an independent assessor investigating if any repairs were done and for any damages. Think twice before you take your car to Ecar. Are chops shops becoming legal in SA? I will be posting a follow up on the outcome of the case.
