Thought I was done with this but just read through our Sanlam statement as of 3 April 2013. My husband was charged R4, 841.87 incl VAT for change owner transaction charge. This charge was never mentioned at any point through the process of amending the policy whereby Sanlam was at fault. There must be a mistake because if we had known this we would have rather cancelled the policy and started something new somewhere else which would have seemed to be the cheaper route because the penalty fee would have been much more cheaper than R4, 841.87! We come to places like Sanlam to save and invest in our future and that of our children but feel that we being ripped off, we are loosing money and not gaining anything. This must be a mistake and ask that you reverse the charge and DO NOT charge us any ridiculous amount as we are not liable for the faulty policy which was drawn up at the beginning.
