I am applying for a home loan through First National Bank and have had to deal with several hiccups in the system that have let me down so far. I requested to include fees in the loan by selecting the option on the form. I was then told that they no longer do this and that the form (that they emailed to me) is the old one. I accepted this as I just want to get on with getting my loan. More disappointments came up after, but the real shocker was the interest rate.
I have been with FNB since I started working. I keep a healthy savings balance in their hands. But when it comes to the interest rate on my home loan, they will not give me less than prime 2. I mean, surely the base rate should apply as a starting ground? What about looking after your customers (you know, the people who trust their money in your hands without which you have no business?).
I am very disappointed in the "can't do" attitude from everyone I have dealt with through this process with the interest rate. Your slogan is, "How can we help you? " but you really don't even lift a finger.
I am a very disappointed customer of FNB.
