A company called Global Personals receives a payment of R140 per month from my credit card. I have no idea who or what this company is and Absa staff have been very unhelpful. They have told me to "just close the account" or to "phone the company to end the subscription". I googled the company name and it seems that they are notorious for scamming people. The bank should have been aware of this and contacted me immediately when the payments started. I expect the bank to get in touch with this company as I have no idea who to phone or what the company even is. I will not simply close my account and am shocked that a bank would actively ask their client to do that. I expect to be paid back all the money that was taken from me.
