This is a continuation of my personal UCount saga.By last week Thursday (18/10/2013). I had not yet received my Ucount card. No call from the couriers or even an attempted call from Standard Bank. Well, true to my word I phoned that same Thursday to cancel my membership and demand my full refund of R 240-00. I was asked to hold the line and the agent came back to me to confirm that my card was still to be delivered by courier. I told him that this was said to me over a week ago. I insisted that he carry on and deregister me for UCount. He promptly did and I received an sms at 08:50am notifying me of my deregistration and e-mail as well. He told me that my R 240-00 will be refunded in 15 days (by my count, 02/11/2013).
I subsequently, received from couriers on Friday, 19/10/2013, my Ucount card. The courier slip shows that my card my only handed to the courier that same Thursday I deregistered, the day before. So what was my card still doing at Standard Bank for over a week???
Sadly, when I have found a bank that I am happy with, I will close all my accounts with Standard Bank. To think that I am treated like this, having been a client since 1994.
