I am shocked and appalled at one of the most renowned banks in SA, Standard Bank, with their high security protocol and standards to allow the drilling and opening of my safety deposit box, without my knowledge nor my presence, and allowing the of my contents (gold coins) to occur. As sole owner and renter of the safety deposit box and as per the rules of Standard Bank, you do not allow any person, not even a person who has access, to DRILL out my safety deposit box if there is no key available, and without my knowledge nor presence. I have now lost over R1.5million worth of gold coins and other contents due to Standard Bank's negligence. I have opened a case of at the police station and opened a case within Standard Bank, but pending the investigation to date, I have not heard of any progress on the investigation from Standard Bank. I hope that the person who defrauded my name when accessing the vault and authorised the drilling out of my lock, that legal action be taken against the perpetrator and implicated.
