I would just like to say thank you for the outstanding service I receive from Santam whenever I need to claim. They are quick and efficient and don't question every last detail before paying out a claim (although they have the right to). It is good to know that in this day and age there are still companies that can rely on goodwill.
I have had two claims this year which have been paid out without hesitation:
1. I lost some of my luggage and personal effects while on a trip to Vietnam. I was allowed to claim under all risks without questions asked even though I only submitted the claim a month and a half after returning.
2. My car (which was parked in a side street in Cape Town) was broken into recently and a couple of high value items. I submitted my claim under all risks (note that the goods were valued at more than my claim limit). Santam went out of their way to pay out the full amount (some under all risk and the rest under another general policy I believe). This was completed within 48 hours!
I am more than impressed and whenever people complain about their insurance companies ripping them off I get to laugh a bit inside.
