Dining out at a restaurant in Sandton Square I tried to pay for the meal with my credit card. No I am told they are having issues with their FNB credit card facility.
Smelling a rat I called the FNB call center to check if this was indeed the case. When I was put through to authorisations (?) I was asked what the merchants account number was. This information I expected them to have.
Earlier I had called Standard Bank card division and immediately established that this merchant did not deal with them just by giving them the merchants name.
