I left the house this morning very excited as my mum had just got her own place and was looking for a dog for companionship and to give a stray or abandoned dog a loving home.
On arrival we went to the reception to ask if we could see the dogs that were there as my mum needs a little dog, we were told that we first had to fill in a form for pre-approval when i asked why this was necessary as we hadn't even seen a dog as yet we were told this is the process. So after looking at this form which has 27 questions asking you very personal information such as cellphone number, email address, what type of home do you have, is there someone home in the day and many other questions. I then said we are happy to give you my mums basic info and should my mum see a dog then we will then fill the rest of the form in I was not comfortable about giving this information to people that i dont know and was yet to even see a dog. i asked what would happen to this form if we dont find something that suits my mum i was told they keep it in a file for about 3 months. My question is why will they keep it on file if we did not purchase anything from them, this information could be shown to who knows who and someone could go through the file to find out info. in this form you can find out if the person lives alone, if the person has people at home during the day all the information that a criminal needs. I totally understand that a pre approval needs to be done but allow me to see a dog first. there are so many dogs that needs a home but the people that rescue these animals make it so difficult to actually adopt. It turned into a very upsetting experience as i was told that if the form is not completed then i can see the dogs but they will not assist my mum and she would not be able to adopt. This type of mentality is beyond me as we live in a society that is unsafe and our information can be sold to marketing companies and does happen continually. They have very bad attitudes and are very unaccommodating. I wish i had read the reviews about this place prior to going. i am sure that the animals are loved and taken very good care of unfortunately I can only assume as i never got to see one. i personally think that they need to address this filling in form first before even going to kennels and assuming that these people are educated maybe that should take a step back and realize that maybe just maybe they are being unreasonable to ask for this info prior to seeing the dogs.
After this altercation which was unfortunate the owner become very rude and asked us to leave and not come back.
i have rescued dogs and have 2 rescued dogs at the moment but i have never dealt with such obstinate, totally irrational and aggressive people before.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.
