I booked a flight on the 25th of March around 9:30pm from Johannessburg to Durban for my family to go celebrate my 4year old daughter’s birthday. The online booking I searched for showed dates from 14th from Johannessburg to Durban and return 18th to Johannessburg from Durban. I booked that flight with travelstart, and Saturday morning I received a confirmation with totally different routes but correct dates. The confirmation was showing a flight from Durban to Johannessburg on the 14th and return from Johannessburg to Durban on the 18th, I called travelstart to try and rectify that but their office was closed, I therefore sent an email same day on Saturday, I only got a reply on Sunday, which stated that to amend the route I will need to pay almost the same amount of the already paid flight which was R4990.00 on top of R5916.00 already paid for the booking. I replied to explain that a mistake was not on my side and that their online dates are misleading. On Monday after not getting a response, I called travelstart again, after explaining to the person assisting, she made me wait for almost 30minutes until I was cut off. I called back again after 30 minutes, I was rudely told that a query was registered, however I would still need to pay pay extra R4990.00 for my ticket to be amended. I opted to cancel the ticket instead, hoping I will get my refund, to my shock, I got a reply this morning the 29th stating I will be refunded R298.00 from the R5916.00 already paid. This is a sad day light robbery from this agency, and they are not bothered. I will not recommend any to use their services, we are reaped of our hard earned money after struggling with COVID 19 crisis and some of us are financially struggling.
