I am paying off a debt that I have with Cell C and my instructions were that I would pay electronically on my account. I have since cancelled the debit order more than a year ago as I have been unemployed. All of a sudden a double payment (R594.00) goes off my account my account, when I call to query they say my debit order was never called. My question is the debit order has not been going off all this time, why does that amount go off when I have not given instructions to do so? I was told by the consultant (Gugu) that because I have not payed in the last 2 months the debit order will continue. Is this right or is this even legal to do that? My complaint is I did not give instructions to do so who gives Cell C the right to reinstate a debit order without my instructions?
