What good is a guarantee from Philips Avent?

27/10/12 bought a Single Electronic breast pump@Baby Boom (Baby Expo) 20/1/13 Son was born 18/3/13 used the pump for the 1st time 30/5/13 Starting to experience problems with the Pump Husband did test between Mains Power Lead&Control handle (power socket) 1/6/13 Buys another universal adapter for mains power lead, still not working, Test brest pump with batter pack&its working 4/6/13 return item with packaging&have all items together to Baby Boom Centurion for replacement of the Main Power Lever as per the guarantee. We were informed we need to leave everything at the store so that the Representative can test it to cofirm whats wrong with the item before they could respond. Why could the staff instore not do this? We explained that I needed the breast pump to express milk as my son is only on breastmilk, but clearly that was our problem. They also couldnt give us an indication of when the representative will visit the store. Am I suppose to buy another breast pump, so that I could get this sorted out? Whats the use of buying such an expensive product with a guarantee and it seems that it does not work? Im making use of the manual pump and the suction power is different. Please resolve???
