3 years ago i signed on a 3 year contract with ADT. The sales was done via another company, Pro-Active, underwriting sales for them. We were told at that time that they were in fact ADT.
Part of the deal was that you receive a FREE alarm system upon signing the contract... and 3 years is a long time for a contract of this nature. After the 3 years we were advised that the alarm system would become my property, as with cellphone contracts.
3 years is now up, only to be told that the system will be removed and I'd have to pay extra if I wanted to own the system. Another option is signing another 2 year contract which will be reviewed. What a load of! We are falsely sold security contracts. Over R10000.00 paid in the 3 years gone.
I am also not the only person with this same problem.
Further to that, ADT sales team are not very keen on following up or tailor making any deals that could attract me as a current & future client.
During our desperate circumstances to want security for our families, anything is said to the client to rope in the sale. This is truely unethical.
