We were looking for a friend for our Basset. I wanted to adopt badly (to save a live) but my partner wanted a dog he wanted (buy a puppy) I went to the SPCA in Centurion. Its difficult going there as you can suspect and stressing that you will choose the wrong dog... I saw a few dogs that my partner would like but saw the one that he would love. the following weekend we went back together and I showed him the red dachshund. it was love at first sight!! he took her out for a walk and cuddled. SOLD!! We have Roxy now for nearly a year :) ( Given name by previous owner- Gave her away after 3 years Apparently the moved to a place where they cant keep dogs LAME excuse!!! Look harder for another place then!!!) She was there nearly for 30 days and was about to be put down. She is the nicest dog ever! ( not to great a friend for the basset but good companion) Seeing how animals get destroyed after euthanasia is horrible. Our next dog (when we move to a place with a bigger yard) will come from the SPCA!
PS. Will someone please create a website for the SPCA Centurion?? and put pics up of the animals there that needs a home? Its better shopping online for the new friend.. ( Sponsors?)
