Poor service on orde

Placed order #1409904 on 20 January and the delivery date specified was 31 January 2014. I Checked online periodically to confirm the date "31 January" as I need the item quite urgently. A day before the quoted delivery date (30 January) I get a generic e-mail stating that there is a delay on the order. It doesn't state why or how long this delay will be. I was then forced to call the call centre to find out about a revised delivery date on the order. I was told that they should know by next week when I may get this item. They offered to refund if I couldn't wait. Unfortunately I've already waited 2 weeks with the expectation of getting the delivery today (31 January) how is it that I wasn't notified sooner so that I could have gone somewhere else to get this item? All in all I'm very disappointed at this poor service and will definitely think twice before placing another order with takealot because they are clearly not dependable.
