We paid a Container Deposit fee of R1000 per Container (R3000) on Release of Cargo in Durban (Bags of Rice) The Containers were Turned into the respective Depot on time after cargo was unpacked - therefore no demurrage applicable. We have Delivery Notes signed from there nominated empty return depot. However, they are not refunding us our R3000 Deposit fee - saying we put holes in the top of one of the Containers. The damages in a photo (could be any photo) look like Container Equipment handling damages. This is equipment that they as a Shipping Line are utilising on our behalf eg. the Port places the Container on our Transporters Truck and then the return depot takes it off. So how could we have damaged this. NB!! They are also the only Shipping Line in the Republic of South Africa that are asking for these deposits - and then not paying them back??? (is this not suspicious???)
