Andrews Academy
Unlawful withholding of a students results

My son was registered in February 2012 with Andrews Ac for IGCSE. We signed T&C's and paid all the fees for 2012. Towards the end of 2012 the school sent T&Cs for 2013 we never signed these because we did not intend that our son should go back to the school. Around the same time the school misrepresented a statement in wich they indicated that we had outstanding fees for R400.00. My husband promptly paid this amount. We are now told that we paid registration fees for 2013. This means we had overpaid the school by R500.00 instead of crediting us with that amount they made us pay an additional R400.00. The school subesquently sent an email to inquire if our son will come back to the school. The response was negative and the following day when the IGCSE results were released they refused to give us the results. It is illegal for them to withhold results for a class that we fully paid for. They are abusing the position of authority by illegally withholding the results and we want the world to know what kind of school they are. Despite the fact that we enlisted the services of a lawyer they refused to give us the results knowing fully well that the legal process is protracted.
