Quickbooks is sold for the South African market but the Vat is not in the programe as it has to be done manually. The buyer must read the book and try their best to get the Vat right. The old Quickbooks was so simple but the new is really difficult to get right. We bought the upgrade a year ago through a software company and they were suppose to teach us but they set up what we thought was correct and during the year we really battled to get the codes right. Now we start a new year and we always start a new company so backup is not too large, and we cannot export/import the data correctly. Quickbooks should not be sold ready for UK vat and not the SA vat, we are a South African company and we bought the software in South Africa, so can't they sell the software ready for our market? I believe this is a good case for the Consumer Council to stop the sale of this type of software.
