I have been with momentum insurance for between 4 and 5 years, I have never made a claim. I make monthly payments without fail. I have contacted them every time anything on my insurance changes so that they can adjust my payments accordingly. Therefore I see myself as a very good customer.

In early December we were broken into, our gate rail was bent and the gate lifted off of the rail. they then broke the gate into our courtyard and various items and tools and my bicycles.

Momentum never sent out an assessor. The assessor that did phone said he was assessing for outsurance and then asked me to take photos of anything that would be pertinent to the claim. So I did, I took photos of the damaged gate as well as the modifications I made to stop another brake in. I took photos of the broken courtyard gate as well. I was then asked questions like when am I most likely to be out of the house, and am I going away on holiday in December and do I activate my alarm when I go out.

Momentum then rejected my claim as "there was no visible sign of forced entry" despite my photos.

If this is not resolved in a professional manor I will move my household insurance elsewhere.
