I bought a car just over a week ago.
I got a quote from various Insurance companies, including OUTsurance who at that time did not give me the best quote.
The next week I received a call from OUTsurance giving me a better quote. When they gave me this quote I corrected information on my previous insurance history that was noted on my policy.
After 3 calls with the consultant, I which I was assured that information on my previous insurance history was corrected, I accepted the quote.
Today (after the quote has been accepted, and I started negotiations with my current insurance company to cancel my insurance), I get a call from OUTsurance, informing me that my premium will be going up with about R400 due to the fact that I have no insurance history.
I feel this is highly unprofessional, especially as I asked the consultant 3 times to confirm that the corrected the insurance history has been noted on my new quote before I accepted it, and after I started the cancelation of my current insurance!
