My 17 mnth son cocked on a peice of plastic yesterday at around 18h30 he was gasping for air and cocking, shortly followed by vomitting of blood. I removed the object and rushed him to the emergency unit at Carstenhof Clinic. I reached at 18h45. my husband, son and I waited for 10 mins at reception before the lady asked for my medical aid card and ID book. we waited a further 40 mins before we were by sons vitals were even checked. We were then taken a room to await treatment. I asked how long until the doctors attends to us. she then told me that my case was not serious and there are more serious cases to attend to. I asked her if she can tell me what colour coding I was so I can decide if I can wiat or if I should take my child to another hospital to which she responded that if I didn't want to wait I could take it up without care that I was a paniced mum and no attmept to reaccure me. After waiting for 90 mins I walked up to the doctor and asked him if he will be seeing us anytime soon and he indicated that "I will see you when I get to you."I am revolted at poor service. There was no re-assurance. I am dissapointed that I actually trust people with no sense of care with my child
