Hi there, in October I contacted FNB for a business overdraft and they told me that the business automatically qualified for a R35000 overdraft, all I had to do is bring to the branch a copy of my clearance certificate from the debt councillors as I was under debt counselling. This was early November.
I proceeded to do that and when I took it to the branch they told me there was no record of me ever contacting them. I proceeded to get the phone records from Telkom and proved to them that I did contact them on the day I said I did.
Late December they told me that they need financial statements and this would be the only way they would grant my an overdraft as I was under debt counselling and this will be valid for all credit applications for me. Note that FNB did grant me a loan at a much higher interest rate for this amount and I believe this is a to make money from me in a non ethical way. They have dragged the application out and forced me to take up the loan as they knew it was urgent and now at a much higher interest rate granted a loan to me for the exact same amount, where is your rules now on granting credit??? I didn't have to provide financials for the loan??? But
