Illegal Debit Order Authorisation

I received a call from a lady claiming her name is Ayanda from Xfinity and that they wanted to send me info on a promotion, when I indicated that I am not interested she recalled all my details (cellphone number, ID and banking details) and said that my account will be debited with R299 and hung up. I could find no details of the company and the only details available is here on HelloPeter. To add insult to injury the bank cannot stop the debit order only the company is allowed, they can keep it on hold for three months but lets be honest what does that help the consumer?? I didn't authorise this and yet there is nothing that can be done to protect our rights as consumers?? Please everyone save this number and NEVER, and I mean NEVER answer it 087 232 7040.
