November 25th 2012 I went to Edgars to make a cash payment to close the account. I paid R2700. Xolilsile told me the account is paid up, I asked her what she requires to close the account, she gave me advice not to close the account. I took the advice and purchase a few items on account. When I got to the counter to pay she told me to make two more payments. One of R550 and another of R410.I couldnt understand why however I swiped these amount thinking it could be penalties since my account was in arrears. Two weeks ago when i went back to buy on account i was told to pay another R1000. i refused-called the manager Anna who wasnt of much help.she told me the swiped payments reflect however not the cash payment. The very same thing happened to my friends mother.twice in one month where cash payments were not allocated to the accounts - claiming by management and accounts these payments does not reflect yet nothing is done amount. Does this mean they cant be trusted? how many times has this happened before where we just didnt notice? its not something that can be left since its not the first time things like this happen at Edgars. this is the third bad experience with Edgars and money!
