I ordered a camera from Digital Den, Paid the money via EFT which included postage (supposedly via Speed Services according to their Website T's & C's)
I firstly waited a week for confirmation my payment had been received, then another 4 days for a Tracking number of the parcel. To my surprise the parcel was on an unknown courier:
[URL Removed] Tracking Number: 0CA286F9EA
who indicated the parcel was originating from Nairobi!
After waiting some more time, I received a call from a very unpleasant person who demanded I pay a further amount as below.

Charges to be paid:
Custom Handling Charges: R880
Custom Tax: R920
Custom Clearance: R1, 550
Total Amount: R3, 350

I have now spent a week trying to get some sort of answers from Digital Den, but to no avail!
My main query being, why, if I purchased an item from a SA company should I pay import duties!
