On Sunday 28th December i took my parents to Giraffe House in Klapmuts, they enjoy animals and the outdoors and since i had been there before i thought they would enjoy it. Well this turned out to be a bad idea, we actually left there with very heavy hearts.
The animals (bucks) did not have any shelter nor any water, their water containers (old tires) were bone dry, it was a sweltering hot day. The lady at the gate was quick to give us a small bucket of food to give the goats. They had a small "kennel" like hut for about 20 goats. We wanted to join in the "show" for the snakes etc but there was only a couple of umbrellas on the stands outside, even the guy who was doing the show was in the sun, they had 2 umbrellas to shelter the reptiles kept in plastic containers. I am quite concerned that Giraffe House say they are there to rescue animals, but it looks like they need rescuing from Giraffe House as well!
