We signed on for the Bubbins 10 small canvas deal in December on Groupon, uploaded our pics for the canvas, got a confirmation email, and then never heard of Bubbins again. Money was taken from our account from Groupon, but the canvasses never showed. Bubbins is also nowhere to be found.
This sadly was not the first time, we ordered something without being delivered. We also ordered two bamboo cutting boards for R339, which never arrived.
At first we thought it might be the postal strike, but soon realised something much more sinister was at play.
We emailed Groupon's customer support about this on12 March, but might as well have been talking to ourselves. The silence was deafening.
This is unacceptable and as a journalist I'm now working on a story to expose these that seem to have found fertile ground on Groupon. I'm also consulting a lawyer on this to take legal action.
It seems that Groupon really takes the money and run.
