In early January, I went to Vodacom Clearwater Mall - and disucssed data bundles with one of their consultants. He informed me of a data bundle special that was R50 p/month less than my current plan (at the time). I asked about the differences, and told it was the same as my current package, also at 500MB. I asked for the special to be activated, and it was.
On 31st January 2013, I received a SMS indicating that my Data usage was higher than normal. This was correct as I was updating applications. However, as I believed there was no difference in package specifications, my excess data SHOULD have been charged at 30c p/MB over the cap, as I was on an ADVANCED package.
No! I was charged R2 p/MB over cap (standard rates), contrary to what I was told.
When I called and complained that I was not told of this pricing difference I was told that Vodacom's Data team will follow up with me. Till today, no-one that could resolve the situation, did. My account has since been debited with the excess amount, and STILL, noone has contacted me, after I was confirmed that "Audit results will be given to me in 14 working days, on 14 Feb. No one did. I hold 5 accounts with you VODACOM - WAKE UP!!
