Data bundle usage sms service stopped!

I am a contract customer and usually buy data bundles. As soon as the data bundles are depleted, and I used to receive a notification from Vodacom via sms, I would purchase another data bundle to keep my account charges low. In December, my bill was exorbitantly high, as it is in January as well. I soon realised that the data bundle usage sms's are no longer sent, and I did rely on these to monitor data usage. Vodacom should have notified customers that their service is no longer working, instead of charging customers at the normal data rates, as these are WAY higher than the bundle rates, which is why I buy bundles. A call centre agent confirmed that they are having a problem with the service, and this should be escalated to valuable customers. This has not been done, and Vodacom is now probably having a field day with extra data charges at normal data rates.
