I received my statement for my Samsung tablet via email and found the bill to be 5 x times my normal monthly usage. I called customer services to query and was told this was a result of data usage, Queried the usage and was old there is no detail available but a call will be logged to send me the detailed billing. The data bundle on my contract is 2 gigs so I could not understand how an amount of R2300 was charged. I had apparently used data to the value of R1700. I then queried about a cap on the account and why I was not informed when my usage reached 2 gigs to which I was told there was no longer caps or sms notifications done, when basic bundle is exceeded then out of bundle rates applied! I had requested a cap & sms notification when I initially took the contract at no time was I told no cap was available. I asked to speak to someone who could give me more info and was told a call will be logged and it would take 10 working days to get a response. It is now almost a month later and I have yet to hear from someone.
This appears to be a new way to increase revenue with data bundles! I am rather disappointed and disillusioned now by the service provider.
