Incorrect information from consultant

At the end of September 2013 my mom took out a cell phone contract at Telkom in Alberton City (the contract was taken out by my mom, for me)

One of the consultants told me that the contract that Im interest in will be charged at 79c out of bundle per minute.

Earlier today I decided to look at the Telkom account and realized that they have charged me R1.50 per minute.

I went back to Telkom and first guy available was Lerato, the one that helped me with the contract in the first place. Again he told me and my mom that the charges is 79c per minute. I told him about the R1.50 and he asked me to go to the lady that's sitting next to him. He also told her that it is 79c per minute out of bundle. When she help me, she told me that it is not 79c pm but R1.50 pm.

The friendly lady (Joyce) really tried to help me and told me that I might have to pay R850 to upgrade my account. She will come back to me because shes trying to waive the R850. She told me that se will follow up and she will try to help me to upgrade the contract.

Why must I pay to upgrade and why must I pay extra because Lerato, the Telkom consultant helped me incorrectly to choose a contract?
