BEWARE TELKOM ADSL NO CONTRACT OFFER

Hi,

I purchased the 1mb ADSL bundle from Telkom on December 2012, the one on the website that says NO CONTRACT. after installation, i realized that 1mb was too slow for me, and so i called them back and asked to upgrade to the 2mb bundle, which they happily did. However, when i got my bill, i was billed for the 1mb data line, as well as the 2mb data line. this happened for 2 months.
Finally Telkom said that they realised that they should not be billing me for both. in fact they credited me. now i get a bill for R1200 rand for contract cancellation fee. when i called them now, i get told that i am being billed because i cancelled the 1mb contract!!! But, how can that be, when the website, and the service that i signed up for was NO CONTRACT!!!
i did not cancel a contract, i upgraded. but they tell me that i have to pay a cancellation fee to upgrade? how insane is this.
i was never a Telkom fan. my collegues told me to give them a try since they have improved all round. so i did. and boy am i now unhappy.
you can believe that i will not recommend Telkom ADSL going forward if this does not get sorted out.
