Iphone5 deemed out of warranty. With No Report

I sent through my 2months iphone for repairs after it went dead. Telkom Mobile took the handset in for assessment on the 12th of July. Two weeks later I was sent an sms stating that the phone has been deemed out of warranty and I have to pay R 3 700. No explanation whatsoever was stated on why the phone has been deemed out of warranty. I requested that they bring the phone back so I can take it to Apple for second opinion. As the handset was not water damaged or physically damaged. I had to wait another 2 weeks just to get the phone back.
I was sent an email to go collect my phone, only to be handed a phone with no report stating why I was quoted R 3 700. When I asked the service consultant where is the report he said I should call 081 180. I got to speak to the supervisor by the name of Shaun Watson I related the story to him and said he will come back and I must send him proof of delivery for the handset that was on the 16th August. Till to this day I have made several calls requesting and made noise on social media. When I called Shaun he was not available but his manager Samuel Esau said the issue is with social media and they will handle it. Till this day nothing has happened
