Still debiting my account after porting to VODACOM

After porting my number and requesting the cancellation of my voice contract with MTN (0832967077) in February 2013, I am still being charged by MTN in the amount of R 667.00 every month for a contract that should have been closed months ago.
In addition to this, when initially speaking to a MTN customer service consultant regarding this issue I was accused of not terminating my contract correctly, when this termination was done from a VODACOM shop by the consultant there. In addition to this when I spoke to the same MTN consultant I specifically noted that I was giving my month's notice. I raised this query almost a month ago and received a confirmation text message (ref: 2109599) that MTN would close the account and refund the moneys that have been overpaid.
This text message regarding the refund and rectification was sent to me on 15 May 2013, yet I am still awaiting the refund and in the interim MTN has debited my account with a other monthly few of R 667.00
This, to say the least, is pathetic and one of the many reasons I decided to move to VODACOM, after so many years. Just another example of large corporates 'taking' your money.
