Vodacom
Charged for contract for 20 months after canceled

Telecommunications

In July / August 2013 I paid an amount in excess of R1000 to cancel a Vodacom contract. Vodacom acknowledges receipt of this amount and the fact that I requested this contract to be canceled.
I recently signed up for itemised billing and discovered I have been charged for this account every month despite paying a cancelation fee and requesting the account to be canceled. I have paid R185 per month for over 20 months and Vodacom has offered me a refund of R1751.09 despite it being their mistake. This is not legal. I am currently looking into suitable contracts at other service providers. I have two other contracts with Vodacom. They will be canceled soon. I am disgusted and appaled. This is not legal and I am highly considering taking this to my lawyer because its the principle.
