I qualify for Prestige Banking & said I would contact the bank when I want it. Now I do. Since the 19th of March I have been begging for someone to contact me to open the account. I have been into a branch, no one was available to see me & the amount of calls I have made in the last 10 days would amount to my monthly bank charges. It suited me to open the account now as I am about to go overseas & want the travel wallet.

As far as I understand I am the client, asking for a service that I would be happy to pay for. I have had my account for over 20 yrs at Standard Bank. There have been things in the past that they have done that upset me but I chose to live with it but this is unacceptable. When I call the call centre I am given the name of the person who is listed to contact me and no one can explain why they haven't. I keep being told its been escalated but nothing happens.

The advertising campaign about moving forward is meaningless when there is a call centre of helpless people, escalating the issue and then I get no response. How can not returning a call from an irate client be moving forward? I am leaving sans travel wallet and on my return account closed.
