I have a prestige account account with Standard Bank and yes it's probably not in the best state due to external factors over the last 12-18 months. My insurance debit order was processed on 02/01/2014 and accepted by the bank, at the time there was not sufficient funds in the account however the debit order was not rejected. On the 4th Jan 2014 I provided adequate funds to the account to rectify this. Today the 8th Jan i get an sms from Standard bank returning the debit order as unpaid. I called the prestige call center and was advised by Leslie-Anne that the bank can reverse a week later or whenever they deem fit. The bank however accepted my cell phone and DSTV debit orders and didn't return that unpaid. This has happened so many times before as well.

Well done Standard Bank, if this is the way you moving banking forward i certainly do not want to part of it. I hate to see what the Standard Bank treats their normal clients if prestige clients are treated this way. I will be moving my account soon.
