Std Bank Very Very poor BASIC SERVICE

I phoned the STD BANK Prestige Banking call centre on Sunday the 2nd of Jan14 to close my account with Std Bank due to past bad experiences. The consultant who was very helpful told me that it would not a problem and gave me the assurance that the closure was done, a view minutes later even providing me with a ref numBER7000825124.On the Monday the 3rd of Feb14 I sent a secure message to my branch STAFF banking asking them if they can send me a LETTER confirming the closure. I received a call on TEUSDAY and to my surprise the agent told my that the account is not closed. I demanded a answer from the lady and except for a missed call with out a message and me making follow up calls the PRESTIGE CALL CENTRE on Wednesday who PROMISED to have someone SENIOR phone me, I have never received feedback from STD BANK up to date.
*I suppose this is to be expected from STD BANK after all I AM ASKING THEM TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT.
