Cancellation and rebooking of bus ticket

I bought a ticket through computicket from Jhb to PMB and I incorrectly put a wrong date. The payment was done through credit card. When I called Greyhound customer service to change the date, I was told by a lady in reservations that I need to cancel the ticket and use cancellation number to rebook. When I called cancellations I was told in order to rebook they will have to debit my credit card again then I will be refunded for 1st booking less 20%. Since my credit card had insufficient funds to rebook i couldn't rebook or get my money back. I checked on their conditions there is nothing stated on that rule I'm told about and it really doesn't make sense. I'm sure if I were another couch I wasn't going to experience this. I'm really upset and disappointed with Greyhound since I have always regarded their service as a professional and customer friendly one at all times.
