Booking declined but charged anyway

On the 18th of May, I attempted to book two flights from CPT to JNB with Travelstart.

I received an e-mail stating that: "We are unable to successfully authenticate your credit card details." I decided to go directly to Kulula's website and make the same booking directly with them. The booking was made using the same credit card, was cheaper and it was confirmed in 5 minutes.

Even so, I got a SMS informing me that my credit card was debited with R 147.00 by Travelstart.

I sent Travelstart a message via their web's contact interface requesting them to reverse the charge. My request was ignored as I have just checked my credit card statement and the R 147.00 has not been reversed.

This is the third time that I have attempted to make a booking through Travelstart and my credit card gets rejected.

Earlier the same day I attempted to book two return tickets from London to JNB. Travelstart rejected my card. I made the booking with [URL Removed] with the same credit card and, 10 minutes later all was confirmed.

I guess that I am a slow learner!

Be aware that Travelstart will debit you with their charge even though your booking is rejected.

I have finally learned my lesson!
